Take a Visit to Cork and Cap Wine Shop

Of all the places we have visited, some of our favorite places have been recommendations from friends and family. This particular find was recommended to us by our Uncle Ken. He is a wine connoisseur within his own right, and he raved about his visit that took place just a few days prior. That is why we love sharing our favorites with you. If you enjoy wine and beer and you find yourself in or near Aiken, South Carolina, do yourself a favor and make a stop at the quaint yellow house on Laurens street. This little gem boasts (in our opinion) one of the best wine shops in the area - Cork and Cap.

We believe that half of the experience is the atmosphere. As soon as we stepped through the door, we were welcomed as if we were old friends by the owners’ young daughter, Rosalee. We then met the owners themselves, Erin and James. While many of us are trying to work past jitters and awkward silence during a first date, this couple spent their time together dreaming up Cork and Cap. James is a wine professional and Erin is a marketing and local food advocate, so it is easy to see how this idea came together so seamlessly.

Cork and Cap has a vast array of selections. There is truly something for everyone. From sweet whites, to robust reds, to craft beers, the options are endless. They carry an assortment of local options as well as delicacies from far and wide.

We grabbed our lunch at a nearby shop, and we then enjoyed each other’s company over a crisp and delicious glass of Zagra. Cork and Cap also has weekly wine tastings along with small snacks, which would be perfect for a date night. If you are unable to make it to Aiken, they also offer online ordering options. It was so wonderful to be able to do what we enjoy while seeing Erin and James do the same. The love they have for their family and their business is so evident. Stop in to check out their impressive selection, and don’t forget to say “hello” to Rosalee!
